'25 hurt' as car driven into crowd in Ohio

Up to 25 people have been injured after a car was driven into a crowded town square in the US state of Ohio, police said.

A woman was said to have driven her vehicle into a crowd in the town of Lima, 80 miles south of Toledo in the north-west part of the state, on Friday evening.

Some of the injured were left pinned under the car before bystanders lifted it, allowing them to be freed.

People in the square had been attending a weekly community event featuring a live band.

Witnesses say the car appeared to stop, before driving on into the square.

No-one was killed in the accident, and 20-25 people are thought to have been hurt.

Police say some victims suffered serious leg, head and neck injuries. At least five were taken to hospitals, and two are in serious but stable condition.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
