Al-Qaida's second-in-command killed, US confirms

Al-Qaida's second-in-command has been killed by a drone strike in Pakistan's north west tribal region, a US official said today.

The death of Abu Yahya al-Libi is a significant blow to the terror network, which has lost a string of top leaders as a result of the American drone programme.
