Blast reported near UN observers in Syria
A roadside bomb has exploded in a suburb of the Syrian capital just 500ft away from a team of visiting UN observers.
No casualties were reported from the blast in Douma, which damaged a parked car. It was not immediately clear what the bomb's target was.
Major General Robert Mood and a team of observers and journalists were 500ft away from the explosion.
A UN observer team with more than 200 members now on the ground has done little to quell the bloodshed in Syria involving government forces and rebel fighters, with some monitors even becoming caught up in the violence.
