Pupil killed in Italian school blast

A student has been killed and seven others have been wounded by the explosion of a device in a rubbish bin outside their vocational high school in southern Italy, an official said.

The device went off just before 8am in the Adriatic port town of Brindisi just as students were arriving for class this morning.
