Kennedy wife died of hanging

Mary Richardson Kennedy, the estranged wife of Robert Kennedy Jr, died of asphyxiation due to hanging, a coroner said today.

She was discovered dead yesterday on the family’s property in New York state.

She was 52 and had struggled with drug and alcohol charges in recent years.

A post mortem was performed earlier today.
