Bomb kills civilians in Pakistan

A roadside bomb targeting paramilitary troops has killed two civilians in south-western Pakistan, police said.

Police officer Farid Ullah said 12 civilians were also wounded by the attack in Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province.

The officer said two vehicles carrying troops from the paramilitary Frontier Corps were damaged, but it was unclear whether any of the soldiers were wounded.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Baluchistan has experienced a decades-long insurgency by nationalists who demand greater autonomy and a larger share of the province’s natural resources.

The province is also thought to be home to many Afghan Taliban militants.
