US terror jury to see British video

A New York City jury is expected to see a video of a British man convicted over an aborted shoe-bomb plot.

A New York City jury is expected to see a video of a British man convicted over an aborted shoe-bomb plot.

Prosecutors said today that the video of Saajid Badat will be played at the trial of Adis Madunjanin.

Medunjanin’s lawyer insists that his client is not a terrorist. He has pleaded not guilty to charges that he plotted with two other would-be suicide bombers to attack Manhattan subways in 2009. The men were arrested before they could act.

Al Qaida dispatched Badat on a suicide mission in 2001, but he backed out.

British authorities tracked him down two years later using evidence found on shoe-bomber Richard Reid.

Reid tried to bring down a plane in December 2001 and is serving a life sentence in a high-security US prison.
