Spate of bombings hits Baghdad and Kirkuk
Three separate bomb attacks rocked Baghdad this morning, killing six people and wounding 21, Iraqi officials said.
Another nine people died in three explosions across the northern city of Kirkuk.
Police Brigadier General Sarhad Qadir said at least 15 were injured in the ethnically mixed city 180 miles north of Baghdad.
Police officers said a parked car bomb exploded around 7.30am in tBaghdad's northern Shiite neighbourhood of Kazimiyah, killing three and wounding 11 people.
Another police officer said a roadside bomb went off minutes later as daily labourers were gathering in the south-western Shiite Amil area. Two died and eight were injured in that attack.
In the south-eastern Zafaraniyah neighbourhood, a roadside bomb killed one and wounded two people. Hospital doctors confirmed the causality figures.
