Costello 'shocked' after Palestine visit
Irish MEP Emer Costello is describing her recent visit to East Jerusalem and the West Bank as shocking.
The Labour Party MEP - who is the head of the European Parliament's delegation for Palestine - visited the occupied Palestinian territories with a number of her fellow MEPs recently.
She says she was "absolutely appalled and shocked" by what she witnessed.
"We met with the mayor of one local community, who told us 95% of his village was under deomolition order."
"We met former prisoners and the families of former prisoners who told us about many human rights abuses, even of children of a very young age."
