Police arrested in connection with Spain hit-and-run death
Two police officers have been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run death of a tourist in Majorca after the one who was driving failed an alcohol test.
Police in Palma said a 64-year-old German woman was hit by a car while cycling and smashed into a tree.
The police officers, both men in their 30s, are detectives with the National Police and were off-duty at the time of the accident.
The Civil Guard, a separate force, said the two were arrested shortly after leaving the scene.
A Civil Guard official said the driver had a blood-alcohol level over the legal limit.
