All eyes will be on the night sky this evening as two of the brightest planets in our solar system cross paths.

Jupiter and Venus will apparently resemble two "bright eyeballs" as they appear side by side.

Frances McCarthy from the Blackrock Castle Observatory says their alignment will be visible to the west:

"Venus is distinctly brighter than any other star that you can see at all tonight and brighter still than Jupiter".
