Two moderately strong earthquakes have hit the north western Philippines with no damage reported so far.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the 5.3 magnitude quake before dawn was centred 10.5 miles south west of Looc township on Lubang island in Mindoro Occidental province.
