Man dies following armed siege in UK

An English village was in shock today after an elderly resident was found dead in a house following an armed stand-off with police negotiators.

Officers entered the home of the man, named locally as Barry Horspool, in Sutton St James, Lincolnshire, last night after an incident earlier in the day in which a policeman was injured.
