Large magnetic storm predicted to affect power grids on Earth

The strongest geo-magnetic storm in more than six years is forecast to hit the Earth's magnetic field today.

A large chunk of the Sun's atmosphere began hurtling towards this planet on Sunday, travelling at a speed five times faster than normal solar particles.
