Gulf states quit Syria mission

Gulf states are pulling out of the Arab League observer group in Syria.

A Gulf Co-operation Council official said the six-nation group will withdraw from the effort to stem the bloodshed between opposition groups and the government of President Bashar Assad.

The GCC includes Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
