Defiant Assad clings to power in Syria

Syria’s president Bashar Assad has insisted he will not quit despite a 10-month-old uprising against him.

In his fourth speech since the Syrian revolt began in March, Mr Assad also attacked the Arab League and accused it of failing to protect Arab interests.
