Greece delays elections until April
The Greek general election has been pushed back to April next year.
It is to give the government more time to settle plans outlining fresh austerity measures demanded by international lenders and to complete negotiations with creditors over a multi-billion euro debt.
Greece will be under the spotlight again next month when an EU assessment will be carried out on the new administration and how it has improved on the former government in adhering to debt reduction targets imposed under the first bail-out scheme.
