France has agreed to pay for 30,000 women to have potentially faulty breast implants removed, as authorities called for those behind their manufacture to be held responsible.

Implants made by French company Poly Implant Prothese have been pulled from markets across Europe and South America over concerns that they could rupture and leak silicone into the body.
