Monti details austerity measures

Italian premier Mario Monti is taking a package of austerity and growth-boosting measures to a sceptical parliament as Europe enters a crucial week aimed at saving the euro.

Mr Monti is to brief both parliament chambers on the package, which includes €20bn of spending cuts and tax hikes and €10bn of measures to boost growth.
