Bomb was assassination attempt, says Iraq's PM Maliki

Iraq’s prime minister says a bombing in the Green Zone earlier this week was an assassination attempt against him.

During an interview today, Nouri Maliki said the parliament building or speaker could also have been targets but preliminary information suggests the bombers were trying to get him.
