Rehn calls for closer EC scrutiny of State budgets
The European Commission is proposing that it be allowed recommend to a member state that it seek financial assistance.
European Commission Vice-President and European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Euro, Olli Rehn, told the European Parliament today that new proposals for closer scrutiny of the budgets of bailed-out states will also allow enhanced surveillance of countries which are deemed to be a risk to wider financial stability.
