16 found shot and burned in Mexico
Police in Mexico have found 16 shot and burned bodies in two pick-up trucks in the western city of Culiacan.
Sinaloa state Attorney General Marco Antonio Higuera Gomez said neighbours called police after seeing a pick-up truck on fire in the Antonio Rosales neighbourhood.
He said investigators found 12 bodies on the bed of the truck.
Mr Higuera added that, minutes later, authorities received another report of a pick-up truck burning behind a store.
Police found four bodies inside that vehicle, one of which had been decapitated.
Mr Higuera said all 16 had been shot.
Culiacan is the capital of the Pacific coast state of Sinaloa, which is home of a major drug cartel named after the state.
