Turks come 'under attack' in Syria

A bus carrying Turks has come under armed attack in Syria, Turkey’s officials said today.

The Foreign Ministry said that, according to initial reports, the attack happened near the central city of Homs, where Syrian activists reported at least nine people killed by security forces yesterday.

The daily Vatan newspaper’s website, without citing sources, said the bus was carrying pilgrims.

The IHA news agency said the driver of the bus was injured in the attack but it managed to reach the Turkish border.
