France unveils €100bn austerity package

France has unveiled an austerity package to save €100bn.

The broad measures are in a bid to rein in its ballooning public deficit by 2016.

It includes €500m in extra State budget savings next year.

It was announced this morning by the French Prime Minister, François Fillon.
