'Thirty dead' in India bridge collapse

Around 30 people are feared dead in north-east India after a footbridge spanning a river collapsed, police said.

A police spokesman said people were crossing the bridge over the Kameng River in Arunachal Pradesh state when it collapsed today. Many of those crossing the bridge were said to be women and children.
