An animal rights group is suing SeaWorld in the US over its treatment of captive killer whales.

The lawsuit, filed by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), accuses the aquatic theme park chain of violating the mammals' rights under anti-slavery laws.

It lists five performing orcas at parks in California and Florida as plaintiffs in the complaint.
