Acid spill leaves Scottish dump workers injured
Nine workers at a landfill site have been taken to hospital after a container of nitric acid overturned.
Ambulances took the nine people away from the scene of the spilled 10-litre container, although none of their injuries are said to be life-threatening.
Emergency services were called to the landfill site in Wellwood, just outside Dunfermline, Fife, at around midday.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We sent two ambulances and a specialist operations team. We conveyed nine people to hospital.”
