A child is missing and a man and baby have been injured after a fire at a farm in the UK, police said tonight.

A child is missing and a man and baby have been injured after a fire at a farm in the UK, police said tonight.

The child, whose age is unknown, is unaccounted for after the fire at Hessle Farm, in Wragby, near Wakefield, West Yorkshire Police said.

A 37-year-old man and a one-year-old girl have been taken to hospital for treatment.

A police spokesman said: "We attended what has turned out to be a serious fire at Hessle Farm, in Wragby, in Wakefield, at about 5.30pm this evening.

“There were two barns and a van parked nearby well ablaze.

“A 37-year-old man and a one-year-old girl were taken to Pinderfields Hospital for treatment.

“There is a second child who is at the moment unaccounted for.

“Inquiries are ongoing.”

A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters were still at the blaze.

She said 10 fire engines were being used to fight the fire, which involved farm buildings.
