Greek transport workers on strike

Commuters in the Greek capital faced more misery today as public transport workers went on strike in protest at the government’s new austerity measures.

Athens metro, tram and suburban rail workers were staging a 24-hour walkout, while buses and trolleys were to stop operating for several hours in the middle of the day.
