Three dead, 50 hurt as race plane hits stands in Nevada

A vintage Second World War-era fighter plane has plunged into the grandstands during a popular annual US air show, killing at least three people and injuring more than 50 spectators.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known, but an event official said there were indications that mechanical problems were involved.
