Fatal blast hits French nuclear waste site

An explosion at a nuclear waste site in France has killed one person and seriously injured another.

The country’s Nuclear Safety Authority said there was no radiation leak at the Marcoule nuclear plant in southern France which treats low level waste.

The site, which does not contain any reactors, is in Langedoc Roussillon, near the Mediterranean.
