The way parents bring up their children has the biggest impact on whether their youngsters will binge drink.

A study of more than 15,000 children in the UK by the research group Demos found that setting rules and imposing discipline prevents unhealthy relationships with alcohol.

The report's author Jamie Bartlett has said children will learn from those around them.
