34 believed dead in twin bomb blasts

A total of 34 people were killed when two bombs exploded in a market in a city south-east of Baghdad, an Iraqi medical official has said.
Lieutenant Colonel Dhurgam Mohammed Hassan, spokesman for Wasit province police, said the first bomb went off in a freezer used to keep drinks cold in the market in Kut. Then, as rescuers and onlookers gathered, a parked car bomb exploded.
