'Evil' rioters steal from hurt boy

Video footage posted on the internet shows London rioters helping an injured youth to his feet before stealing from his rucksack.

The injured boy is seen in the YouTube film sitting on the pavement of what appears to be a railway bridge with blood flowing from his face.

A number of people gather around him and help him to his feet before about three start rummaging through his rucksack.

One takes something out, throws away the packaging and walks off.

An appalled narrator to the film, which was posted yesterday, describing the incident, says: “Are they actually helping him up? Oh my God. Are they going through his bag?

“He just took something from his bag. Dickhead.”

The footage, called “London Riots – Scum steal from injured boy”, was posted by Abdul Hamid.

His comments to the film state: “This is evil. A poor lad, obviously in distress, sits bleeding on the ground. He is ’helped’ up and then robbed. I hope these scumbags are caught.

“Posted here to show how evil these people are.”

Also gaining ground among internet and social media users in the aftermath of the riots was the 'Catch a Looter' blog on microblogging platform tumblr, which enabled users to upload images of people they believed to have been involved in looting, in an effort to help identify them.
