European commissioner for economic and monetary affairs Olli Rehn has said the full implementation of the July 21 meeting to stabilise the euro will take more time to implement, and a market expectation of immediate effects was "unrealistic".

"It would have been fantastic if the (July 21) agreement had been fully operational on July 22, but this was of course impossible," he said this morning.
