Two makeshift bombs have exploded in front of the offices of two opposition parties in Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia, causing damage but no injuries.

The blasts came days before a European Union report on Bulgaria’s progress in the fight against crime and corruption is due to be released.

Sofia police chief Valeri Yordanov said the explosives went off in front of the head office of the conservative Order, Law and Justice Party and an office of the right-wing Democrats for Strong Bulgaria early today.

Both parties said last week that they will support a no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Boiko Borisov’s minority Cabinet to be held later this week.
