A man has been charged with the murder of an angler after a body was pulled from a canal during a fishing competition.

A man has been charged with the murder of an angler after a body was pulled from a canal during a fishing competition.

Police were called to Sankey Valley Park in Warrington, Cheshire, on Saturday morning where the body of 57-year-old Harry Morris was recovered from the water.

Anthony Ogburne, 40, from Warrington, has been charged with murder and is due to appear before magistrates today.

The two men had been involved in an “altercation”, Cheshire Police said.
