Nato defence ministers were today discussing the future of their mission in Afghanistan ahead of a decision by the Obama administration on how many of the 100,000 American troops to pull out of the war in July.

Nato defence ministers were today discussing the future of their mission in Afghanistan ahead of a decision by the Obama administration on how many of the 100,000 American troops to pull out of the war in July.

General David Petraeus, the top US commander in Afghanistan, is briefing the ministers from Nato and other countries involved in the Afghan conflict at the Alliance’s headquarters in Brussels.
