Libya foreign minister visits China

China said today that Libya’s foreign minister was visiting Beijing just days after Chinese officials announced they had reached out to the rebel forces challenging Libyan dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.

China appears to be taking small steps in recent days to boost its engagement in the Libya conflict after staying on the sidelines for the first few months since the revolt against Gaddafi’s government erupted in mid-February.
