NATO helicopters attack targets in Libya

NATO Apache combat helicopters have attacked targets during their first operation in Libya.

The operation was launched off the coast of Brega on HMS Ocean.

It saw the destruction of a radar installation and a vehicle at a military checkpoint.

British Defence Secretary Liam Fox said the mission reinforced Britain's commitment to the NATO operation, which has been extended by 90 days.
