Three killed in Pakistan bus blast

A roadside bomb has hit a passenger bus in eastern Pakistan, killing at least three people and leaving several others injured.

Police official Rashid Ahmed said the attack occurred today near Kharian, a garrison town about 75 miles south-east of the capital Islamabad.

The bus was en-route to Kharian from the nearby city of Gujrat.

The attack came a day after a double suicide bombing in the country’s north-west killed 87 people.

The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for that attack and said it was revenge for the May 2 US raid in Pakistan that killed Osama bin Laden.
