Royal Wedding: Guests dining on feast of crab, duck, champagne
Guests at Buckingham Palace are being served a selection of canapes, with champagne to toast the newlyweds.
The food has been sourced from around the British Isles and includes Cornish crab, Scottish salmon, miniature Yorkshire puddings and Gressingham duck.
A team of 21 chefs have prepared the nibbles and will serve the wedding cake during the reception.
Up to a million well-wishers flocked to central London today to catch a glimpse of the historic royal wedding, police said.
Scotland Yard said that there were about 500,000 people around Buckingham Palace to watch William and Kate’s eagerly-anticipated kiss.
The force estimated that crowds would have peaked at about one million along the processional route.
In a unprecedented covert and overt operation, only 45 people have been arrested so far.
