A neighbourhood in Britain was left in shock today at the brutal murder of an elderly couple found dead in their home on Good Friday.
Guiseppe and Caterina Massaro, 80 and 77, were found by a close family member at their home in Woden Road, Wolverhampton, on Friday night.
The couple, originally from Italy, had moved to England in 1960 and are believed to have lived in the street for around 30 years.
They had two children and a number of grandchildren, police said.
It is not yet known how the couple were killed, and post mortem examinations are due to be carried out tomorrow.
A murder inquiry is under way and police are trying to track the movements of the couple’s car, which was missing from their address and later found in nearby Wednesfield.
Neighbours today spoke of their shock at the murders, many speaking fondly of the elderly couple.
