Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou will bid for a second term in next year’s election, riding on a strong economic recovery and markedly improved ties with rival China.

Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou will bid for a second term in next year’s election, riding on a strong economic recovery and markedly improved ties with rival China.

Mr Ma registered with his Nationalist Party today as its presidential candidate in polls set for next January. He has no challengers from his own party.
