Worker missing after US mine collapse
A rescue operation is under way tonight after a collapse at a silver mine in northern Idaho in the US, according to an official with the mining company.
One miner reportedly is missing.
Hecla Mining Company spokeswoman Melanie Hennessey said the collapse occurred about 5:30pm on Friday at Lucky Friday Mine in Mullan, Idaho.
She said that a portion of the mine is blocked.
A federal Mine Safety and Health Administration official said one miner is missing.
Ms Hennessey declined to provide other details.
