Man killed as Israeli attacks on Gaza continue

An Israeli tank shelling killed a man in Gaza, and militants fired eight missiles into Israel, according to Palestinian and Israeli officials.

The attacks follows an airstrike which killed three Hamas militants, including a senior commander. Today, the Israeli military’s Iron Dome defence system knocked some of the eight rockets down and there were no wounded.

The incidents mark the most intense fighting since Israel and Hamas fought a three-week long war more than two years ago.

A Palestinian rocket hit an Israeli school bus on Thursday, prompting a retaliation that has killed 18 Gazans and wounded more than 65.
