British woman charged with stabbing baby daughter to death

A mother was today remanded in custody charged with stabbing her baby girl to death.

Jade Ruck (aged 23) appeared at Newport Crown Court accused of murdering 11-month-old Harley Ruck in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, on November 20 last year.

Initial post mortem results showed that Harley died as a result of multiple stab wounds, Gwent Police said.

After Harley’s death Ruck was detained under the mental health act. She was today charged with murder.

Ruck was remanded in custody and will appear at the same court on June 27.
