Portugal to hold election amid 'economic crisis'

Portugal goes to the polls in just over two months time.

Their caretaker president yesterday dissolved parliament, warning the next government faced an "unprecedented economic crisis."

Portugal is on the verge of seeking a bailout from the EU and the IMF, following in Ireland and Greece's footsteps.

Prime Minister Jose Socrates resigned last week after the opposition rejected his government's austerity measures.
