British man killed in bar fight on holiday island

A British tourist has been killed in the Spanish island holiday resort of Magaluf in what was thought to be a bar-room brawl.

Gary Vigors reportedly got into an argument yesterday with a fellow Briton with whom he was on a cricket tour.

His throat was slashed with a broken bottle and he bled to death following the fracas in Majorca, according to Spanish press.

Spanish authorities are investigating the incident.

A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: “We can confirm the death of a British national in Magaluf in Spain. Consular staff are in contact with the next of kin and providing consular assistance.”
