Man detained at Heathrow Airport after bomb threat

A man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to blow himself up at Heathrow Airport.

The departures area of Terminal 5 was partially evacuated after the man, believed to be British and in his 30s, entered.

Sky News crime correspondent Martin Brunt said the terminal has reopened as the situation was quickly brought under control by armed police.

"Something alerted the security forces and there was great concern about a bag of some description that he was carrying," he said.

"We understand that the bag has been cleared although the man is still in custody."
